Before your first session

What to expect

What you can expect

A quiet, private, unhurried space. Respect for your dignity, and the ability to disengage at any time. Clear communication about what we're doing and why, throughout.

Confidentiality and its limits

What you share stays confidential and won't be disclosed without your written consent — with legal exceptions: court-ordered disclosure, a disclosed intent to harm yourself or someone else, or active child abuse, all of which require mandatory reporting to authorities.

Treatment plans

Sessions typically range from one to twelve, depending on what you're working through and how you engage with it. I don't guarantee specific outcomes, but the work is results-oriented, and most clients report meaningful shifts.

Your part in it

How this goes depends on your engagement too. If something isn't working, I'll say so directly, and we'll talk about whether to pause, adjust, or refer you elsewhere.

Clinical hypnosis, specifically

This is research-supported and you remain conscious and in control throughout. Strong emotional responses are uncommon, and if they happen, they're managed carefully. I avoid any hypnosis methods that risk creating false memories, and if litigation is involved, I'd recommend consulting legal counsel before starting.

Credentials

Training includes the 11271NAT Diploma in Clinical Hypnosis and Strategic Psychotherapy (AQF Level 5), recognised internationally. See the About page for full details.

Concerns

You can raise a concern with me directly, or through the formal complaints process.
